1. Union Pacific Coffee Shop

Nestled in the north end of Chinatown, this local favorite coffee shop has been touted as one of the best coffee shops to grab a quick bite and a warm drink. Their menu boasts a variety of pastries, breakfast items, and sandwiches not to mention locally roasted coffee.

With a warm rustic atmosphere and complimentary Wifi, Union Pacific is a great spot to hang or study. There are plenty of seating options inside and out, with a cute courtyard in the alley out back.

2. Bean Around the World

Bean Around the World  is one of Victoria’s OG coffee shops, opening its doors in 1996 in the heart of Chinatown. From its humble beginnings in West Van they now have over 23 locations including a roastery. 

With house roasted beans for over two decades, the Victoria location offers a variety of drinks, freshly baked pastries, and sandwiches from local Victoria favorites like: Wildfire Bakery, Bubby Rose’s Bakery and Café, and La Tana Italian Bakery.

3. Habit Coffee

This coffee shop has kept sustainability in mind, achieving a carbon neutral footprint for the last 10 years. With locally roasted beans from BowsxArrows they are community based and source local as much as possible. They have two locations, one in Chinatown and the other in the Atrium Building and are open until 6pm everyday.

4. Caffe Fantastico

Family run and locally owned, this Victoria staple is the product of a 20 year dream and a lifelong passion. From its humble beginning as a coffee cart, Caffe Fantastico has been true to its mission: ethically sourced, high quality beans and a sense of community.

They have three locations, all with their own niche, neighborhood and last but not least, liquor license.

5. Hey Happy Coffee

Hey Happy is the new kid on the block and has won over the hearts of many, finding its home in the historic district on the lower end of Johnson Street. Bright, cheery, upbeat and funky its minimalist interior is very new world meets old love (for coffee).

They are open until 3pm everyday and offer online ordering for coffee, breakfast, funky merch, monthly coffee subscriptions and even a pork belly sandwich.

6. Discovery

Small batch roasting since day one this local, family-run retailer is proud of their fresh sourced coffee. With 4 locations and a roastery they supply wholesale beans and carry some of the best doughnuts in town from Yonni’s Doughnuts.

7. 2% Jazz Coffee

This coffee packs a punch! Starting in 1996 and roasting in house since 2006, they have two locations in Victoria. From their flagship store and roasting house in the Hudson Building coffee aroma wafts down the street.

The product is a balanced, sweet, smooth, chocolaty, fruity cup of jo. Try the americano and it will really knock you off your feet.
